For almost three decades Acme-MacKenzie Nursery Supply
has produced wire baskets for the mechanical tree spade at our Ohio location in a complete design-to-production facility enabling us to produce to
specification any type or style of basket used in the nursery industry.
All our wire baskets are constructed of galvanized wire components of rings and vertical loops.
Loop Bottom (Open)
This bottom type will conform to any depth root ball as the basket can be pulled up on the ball to make a snug fit. The bottom loops should be tied off with twine or strapping.
Flat Bottom (Closed)
Bottom loops are bent inwards and welded together. This basket style requires the bottom of the root ball to be shaved off in order to achieve the perfect fit. This allows the tree to sit
flat on the ground surface and offers greater protection to the root ball.
Vertical loops extend up over the crown of the top ring and are used for fastening around the crown of the root ball.

TIGHTCONE BASKETS:
27 and 30 degree taper fits Caretree and Vermeer diggers with pointed spades. This basket also subs well for the Big John and TS33 Curved Vermeer diggers.
TRUNCATED BASKETS:
22 and 25 degree taper fits Caretree, Dutchman and Vermeer diggers with diamond shaped spades. These diggers are angled in order to produce a wide
bottom ball. This basket is available in short or deep styles.
CLEGG/BRADCO BASKETS: These baskets are cylindrical
in shape and available in 9 and 15 degree angles. A version of this basket
is used in the Texel Agro-liner for growing in or above ground
applications.
OPTIMAL BASKETS: These baskets are made to
fit the German tree spade that digs a round, oval shaped ball. Also available in the clam shell style for the Two Blade digger.
HAND DUG BASKETS: A round basket with one or
two ring design for more support. This basket gives you a machine dug look. Also available in a two-ring style.
ECONOMY: When cost is paramount. Reducing the wire components (rings or loops)in any style basket produces an
economical choice to fit any budget without sacrificing the quality of the B&B package.
Windmills:
Especially suited to hand dug B&B. Easy to use, good support - also available in a three loop and flat wire design.
5-Point Wire Forms: All the advantages of the traditional windmill wire form in
a 5-point "Star".
